Sinopse

Ilha do Pico, Açores. Uma crosta de lava no meio do oceano Atlântico, onde os habitantes, à falta de terra boa, cravaram a vinha na pedra. Fustigada pelo rocio do mar e pelo frio do inverno que desce a montanha, a vinha vinga na secura da pedra com a ajuda de homens, cuja vida gira em grande parte à volta da cultura da vinha e do vinho. Na ilha do Pico, as adegas, mais do que lugares onde se guarda o vinho, a água-ardente, os licores, são lugares de portas abertas ao encontro, à partilha, à discussão, à música, ou ao recato no final de um dia de trabalho.

Synopsis

Pico island, Azores. A lava crust in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, where it’s inhabitants, in lack of good soil, drove the vine into the stone. Lashed by the ocean winds and by the winter cold descending the mountain, the vine thrives in the draughtiness of the stone with the aid of men, whose lives revolve around the vine and wine culture. In Pico island, the wine houses, more than storage places for wine, firewater, liquors, are places opened to encounter, sharing, arguing, playing and singing, or a hideout at the end of a working day.
